A muhurta (muhūrta) is a time chosen to begin something important. The choice weighs the five limbs of the day’s almanac (pañcāṅga): the tithi, the weekday, the nakshatra, the yoga, and the karana. Then it checks the rising sign (lagna) at the moment of starting, and the strength of the day for your own birth star (tārā bala). A good muhurta does not replace effort or planning; it makes sure the start itself carries no avoidable affliction.
Different work needs different kinds of time. The traditional muhurta texts sort the nakshatras into classes, and a nakshatra that suits a housewarming may be wrong for signing a contract. The report chooses for the specific event you name.

- Joining a new job, or starting a course of study
- Filing nominations, applications, or a court case
- Festival pujas such as Diwali or Holi puja

How your report is prepared

Frequently asked questions
Is a muhurta about the people born on that day?
No. Muhurta rules concern the time chosen for an action, not people born at that time. A nakshatra that is avoided for a ceremony says nothing about anyone born in it.
What if no good date falls in my window?
We tell you so, and suggest the least afflicted option, or the nearest good date outside your window, so you can decide.
