When a delivery is planned, whether by caesarean section or an induced labour, families often ask for an auspicious time within the window the doctor allows. A muhurta (muhūrta) is exactly that: a time chosen so that the Moon’s nakshatra, the tithi, the weekday, and the rising sign (lagna) at that moment are favourable. For a birth, the lagna matters most, because the moment of delivery becomes the child’s own birth chart.
We suggest three or four auspicious dates within the month you give us, each with the favourable ascendant timings on that day, worked out for the hospital’s location and checked against the mother’s birth chart.
What the report covers
- Three or four auspicious dates within your chosen month or the doctor’s window
- The favourable ascendant timings on each date, in local time
- The nakshatra, tithi, and weekday for each suggestion, and why it was chosen
- Dates that avoid the six gandamoola nakshatras, where the medical window allows
What we need from you
- The mother’s date, time, and place of birth (and the father’s, if available)
- The date range your doctor has advised
- The city where the hospital is, so the timings are calculated for that location
How your report is prepared
Every report is worked out by hand from your birth chart by AstroShala’s astrologers. We do not use software-written or AI-generated readings. You receive it by email within 72 to 96 hours of placing your order, and your birth details are never shared with anyone.
Please note
Your doctor decides when a delivery is medically safe. We only choose times within the window your doctor gives, and the medical advice always comes first. If plans change, the doctor’s judgement is the one to follow.
Frequently asked questions
Why avoid the gandamoola nakshatras?
Many families prefer to avoid them for a planned birth, and the traditional texts prescribe a pacification rite (śānti) for children born in them. Our article on Gandamoola nakshatras explains what the tradition says, and what it does not.
What if the delivery happens at a different time?
Every birth time has its own chart, and a time outside our suggestions is not a bad sign. The child’s chart is simply read as it is.
