A few minutes of birth time change more of a horoscope than most people expect. The ascendant moves through a whole sign in about two hours, the navamsa ascendant changes about every thirteen minutes on average, and the sixtieth divisional chart, the shashtiamsa (D60), changes about every two minutes. If your recorded time is a rough guess, every reading built on the ascendant and the divisional charts rests on uncertain ground.
Rectification works backwards from your life. We take the events you send, with their dates, and test candidate birth times against them: does the dasha running at each event, and the transits on that date, fit what happened? The time that explains your events most consistently is the one we give you, with the reasoning behind it.
What the report covers
- Your rectified birth time, with the method and the events that support it
- How the rectified time changes your ascendant, navamsa, and dashamsa, if it does
- A short note on what your corrected chart shows
What we need from you
Your date and place of birth, and the approximate birth time you have, with how you know it (a hospital record, a family memory, and so on). Then list at least 7 to 10 major events of your life with their dates in dd/mm/yyyy format, for example:
- Marriage, and the birth of each child
- First job, and major promotions or job changes
- Completion of degrees, or awards in study or work
- Moves to a new city or country
- Accidents or the start of a serious illness
- The passing of a parent or close family member
The more events you give, with exact dates, the firmer the result. Approximate dates help less.
How your report is prepared
Every report is worked out by hand from your birth chart by AstroShala’s astrologers. We do not use software-written or AI-generated readings. You receive it by email within 72 to 96 hours of placing your order, and your birth details are never shared with anyone.
Frequently asked questions
Can any method give my birth time to the exact second?
No. Rectification gives the time that best explains your life events, usually within a narrow window. The quality of the result depends on the number and accuracy of the events you send.
Should I rectify before ordering other reports?
If your birth time is uncertain by more than a few minutes, yes. A rectified time makes every later reading more reliable.
